A Conceptual Framework and a Toolkit for Supporting the Rapid Prototyping of Context-Aware Applications

چکیده
Computing devices and applications are now used beyond the desktop, in diverse environments, and this trend toward ubiquitous computing is accelerating. One challenge that remains in this emerging research field is the ability to enhance the behavior of any application by informing it of the context of its use. By context, we refer to any information that characterizes a situation related to the interaction between humans, applications, and the surrounding environment. Context-aware applications promise richer and easier interaction, but the HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION, 2001, Volume 16, pp. 97–166 Copyright © 2001, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Inc. Supporting Development of Context-aware Applications Using Semantic Space Toolkit
In order to facilitate rapid development of context-aware applications, there is a need for architectural support in the entire context processing flow, and improved programming abstractions that ease the prototyping. In this paper, a toolkit called Semantic Space, is proposed to support rapid prototyping of context-aware applications via a set of programming abstractions on context processing....
متن کاملRapid Prototyping Tools for Context-Aware Applications
Context-aware applications are one of the most important forms of next generation interactive systems. We discuss new attributes exhibited by context-aware interactions and introduce our experience with developing a tool for prototyping location-enhanced applications, which are a useful subset of context-aware applications. Based on this, we discuss what challenges we face in developing a more ...
متن کاملA Framework for Rapid Prototyping of Mobile and Context-Aware Pervasive Healthcare Systems
The pervasive healthcare field would benefit from software development tools supporting rapid prototyping in order to evaluate the feasibility of novel approaches in healthcare by using technology. We introduce the lightweight framework Extended Advanced Context Sensing Evaluation Platform (EACSEP) for rapidly creating context-aware sensing prototypes within the pervasive healthcare domain. A s...
متن کاملMeasuring Iran\'s Industrial Clusters Competitiveness: Through Porterian Diamond Framework and Factors
Competitiveness is divided into two broad categories named as macroeconomic and microeconomic competitiveness. Microeconomic competitiveness indicators have a direct impact on company productivity within which sate of cluster development is the most important pillar of microeconomic competitiveness that are introduced by Michael Porter and it's framework as Diamond Model. The Diamond reveals al...
متن کاملThe ECORA framework: A hybrid architecture for context-oriented pervasive computing
An infrastructure approach to support context-aware pervasive computing is advantageous for rapid prototyping of context-aware distributed applications and beneficial for unifying modelling of context and reasoning in uncertain conditions. This paper presents the ECORA framework for context-aware computing, which is designed with a focus on reasoning about context under uncertainty and addressi...
